Estonia; city of Tartu (German: former Dorpat; also D鰎pt): statue in form of a stamper (seal) for Johan Skytte (1577 - 1645). Skytte was also knonw as Schroderus; after his father`s German surname Schr鰀er (taylor). In 1622; he became chancellor of Swedish university of Uppsala. In 1629; Skytte was appointed Governor-General of Livonia; Ingria and Karelia; he was in 1632 as well appointed chancellor of the new Academia Gustaviana (University of Tartu); in addition to his Uppsala chancellorship.
