Skull of a girl with a wreath of fruits and myrtle flowers. The flowers are earthen, some gilded and others in a variety of colours. Wreaths that were buried with the dead were made of gold, gilded bronze, silver or wood and covered with golden leaves that resembled real ones. Clay was often used instead of precious materials and tinted in bright colours or gilded. Wreaths of myrtle accompanied female burials, while oak leaves were used for male burials. From Patras, North Cemetery, Hellenistic Period, late 4th - 3rd C. BC.
