Mammogram. X-ray of the left breast (mammogram). This breast was given a BI-RADS (Breast Imaging-Reporting and Data System) score of 3, where categories 1 and 2 are normal. There are some masses or lesions (opaque areas) within the breast tissue. These have been assessed as probably being benign (non-cancerous). At this stage there is no need for a biopsy, as the risk of malignancy (cancer) is low, but the patient should undergo more frequent screening.
