Bur-reed (Sparganium sp.) showing male and female flowers. The male flowers are higher up the stem, and form small balls covered in pollen. The female flowers sit lower, are larger, and have numerous stigmas (white) to catch pollen. This is a common plant in wetlands across the northern hemisphere. Filmed in Denmark.
