Animation showing the distribution of visible light matter and invisible dark matter, calculated based on visible light first and X_ray red views of the same region of sky. The view then changes to a 3D model of the distribution of matter. These data were collected as part of the COSMOS survey, undertaken by the Hubble Space Telescope Hubble Space Telescope Cosmic Evolution Survey.
