Cytoplasmic streaming. Real_time differential interference contrast microscopy footage of cytoplasmic streaming in plant cells. These are onion bulb scale epidermis cells. This is a partial view of two cells and their nuclei round and cell walls. The cytoplasmic streaming is seen in both cells. Cytoplasmic streaming, or cyclosis, is the mechanism by which general transport and solute movement takes place within cells. This two_way process is aided by the actin protein microfilaments of the cell磗 cytoskeleton.
