Fly on the head of a common stinkhorn fungus Phallus impudicus. This is a common mushroom in woodland in Europe and parts of North America. When mature, the tip of the mushroom is covered in a foul_smelling grey_brown sticky slime, which attracts flies and other animals that feed on carrion. The flies alight on the mushroom and feed on the slime, carring the spores when they depart. All the slime has been taken from this mushroom, revealing the underlying net_like structure. Filmed in Denmark.
