These are the larvae of moths belonging to the Pyralidae family and are common pests of cereals and other dry plant produce. The larvae can reach 12 mm in length and are found throughout the world. Larvae hatch from eggs and are the second stage in the lives of insects that undergo complete metamorphosis.
