Male and female cardinals (Cardinalis cardinalis) as well as a juvenile white-throated sparrow (Zonotrichia albiocollis) pecking for seed on snow covered branch. This cardinal species inhabits the northernmost cardinal range and is found throughout the eastern U.S., southeastern Canada, and eastern Mexico. Males have much more vibrant colors than females and are slightly larger in size.
