Timelapse of the night sky over the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, La Palma, Canary Islands. Just after the sky darkens the International Space Station passes from left to right. The yellow light at right comes from the neighbouring island of Tenerife and its airport. The observatory is located at 2400 meters above sea level on the edge of a volcanic caldera. It houses a number of telescopes including the Isaac Newton Group of telescopes.
