Demonstration of an exothermic reaction producing heat. The probe and readout shows the temperature change as hydrochloric acid is added to sodium hydroxide. This is an acid-base neutralisation reaction, reacting to produce sodium chloride and water, and giving off heat. The temperature starts at just over 20 degrees Celsius and quickly rises to more than 69 degrees.
