MODEL RELEASED. Thermographic video of a man taking a cold shower. Thermography detects the infrared radiation given off by surfaces, which reveals their temperature. This is colour-coded, from dark red at normal internal body temperature, 98.4 degrees Fahrenheit (36.9 degrees Celsius), to dark blue at 65.3 F (18.5 degrees Celsius). The skin is significantly cooler than body temperature, but it is cooled even further by the cold water, leaving the man nearly invisible against the background, apart from his eyes and armpits.
