Kliuchevskoi volcano erupting. Time-lapse footage of photographers observing an eruption of the volcano Kliuchevskoi (also known as Klyuchevskaya Sopka) on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East. The eruption consists of mild strombolian explosive activity at the summit, accompanied by lava flow on the flanks. This stratovolcano is the tallest volcano in Kamchatka, rising to an elevation of 4835 metres. It is relatively young, having largely formed in the last 7000 years. Kliuchevskoi has been frequently active in recent times with eruptions occurring almost annually. Footage obtained in October 2013.
