Nightingale faeces beauty treatment. Beauty therapist preparing a face treatment by mixing dried nightingale bird (Luscinia megarhynchos) faeces, white clay and water with a brush. This traditional skincare treatment has been used for centuries by Japanese kabuki actors and geisha to remove heavy makeup and as a facemask. The powder has been sterilised with ultraviolet light.
