The constellation of Perseus. A fairly conspicuous northern hemisphere constellation, it contains two second magnitude stars, Alpha & Beta Persei. Mirfak (Alpha Persei) is the bright star at the centre of the this photograph. Algol (Beta Persei) is seen below centre; it was the first eclipsing binary star discovered & was the prototype for the class of eclipsing binaries known as Algol variables.
