MODEL RELEASED. Refuse derived fuel (RDF) pellets. Person holding a handful of pellets made from household rubbish, which will be incinerated to generate power. These pellets are prepared by the Byker Reclamation Power Plant in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. The Power Plant mechanically sorts domestic rubbish, removes metals, dries the refuse and compresses it into these RDF pellets. Some 2000 tonnes of refuse are processed and burned per week, to generate 2.5 Megawatts of electricity for the national grid.
