Rhone River Delta, satellite image. This delta is where the Rhone River flows into the Mediterranean Sea on the southern coast of France. The Rhone divides at top, in the city of Arles. The branch at left (the Petit Rhone) forms the Camargue delta. The branch at right (the Grand Rhone) flows past the Etang de Vaccares lake, reaching the sea at lower centre. The large area of water at centre right is the Etang de Berre lake. This area is just west of the centre of Marseilles. Composite image obtained using data from the Landsat 7 satellite.
