Female grey wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) standing in a stream. Grey wagtails are found throughout temperate Europe and Asia and parts of northern Africa. Grey wagtails are insectivorous and inhabit areas close to fast flowing streams. The adult male has a black throat, which allows it to be distinguished from the female. Photographed in Dorset, UK, in December.
