The parish priest of Longarone, Don Pietro Bez, on the stretch oflevel ground where the parish church used to be, swept away bythe enormous wave that came from the steep valley, seen over hisshoulder. Monsignor Bortolo Larese, his predecessor, also diedunder the wave.A project for a new large church entrusted to the architect GiovanniMichelucci, is however being obstructed by the priest and theparishioners who are still without a school and much morebesides.
