Charles Pichegru (1761-1804) French soldier. A Bourbon (Royalist) sympathiser, after the French Revolution (1789) he lived in exile in England and Germany. Plotted with Candoudal against Napoleon Bonaparte. Arrested on his return to Paris and found strangled in prison before coming to trial. Engraving, 1895.
