A late 19th Century 'tin can' midden, (ferrous metal midden), in the Imperial Valley, California. Hole-and-cap food containers include both hand soldered side seams and Norton's 1887 side seam, dating the assembly to around 1890. Associated with mining in the Mesquite District.
