Western Red Cedar. The massive moss-covered trunk of a Western Red Cedar tree, Thuja plicata. The Western Red Cedar grows wild in western parts of North America, from southern Alaska to California. It flourishes in coastal areas and is found in temperate rainforest regions. It can grow up to 60 metres tall.
