The opium drug consists of the sap from the unripe seed capsules of the plant. It is used medicinally for the pain- killing alkaloid drugs in it, such as morphine, heroin & codeine. It is also used as a narcotic as it brings on pleasurable dreams and visions. Mari- juana is also used medicinally and as a recrea- tional drug. Its active component, tetrahydro- cannabinol, is concentrated in the plant's flower- ing tops. It induces a feeling of passiveness in users & can also alter their perceptions.
