The front of the body is at top. The adenoma shows cystic structure and so is termed a cystadenoma. Other organs seen include the liver (yellow), the kidneys (pale red) and the spine (pink). An adenoma originates from glandular epithilial tissues. The pancreas is a gland that secretes digestive enzymes. If a tumour grows too large or becomes malignant (cancerous), it should be treated. Pancreatic cancer is hard to diagnose. Symptoms include jaundice and weight loss. By the time it is detected, it is often inoperable.
