On the road on the 'Behemoth' superbike. Created by computer consultant Steven Roberts, 'Behemoth' (Big Electronic Human-Energised Machine...Only Too Heavy) consists of a customised bicycle and trailer. From his reclining position, Roberts may access any one of four on-board computers or may communicate with other people through his cellular 'phone, ham radio or a satellite network. The bicycle has 105 gears, weighs 354 kg (with Roberts) and cruises at 16 km/h. Power for the computers comes from a solar panel on the top of the trailer. Navigation is performed with the aid of a Global Positioning System receiver and computer-stored maps. Value - about $1.2 million.
