Light microscopy of skin benign growth called a seborrhoeic keratosis. The epidermis is overgrown with significant thickening compared with the normal unaffected peripheral margins. Macroscopically these harmless lesions are brown to black in colour, mostly seen on the trunk and increase in abundance with age. In layman's terms these unsightly growths may be referred to as old age barnacles'. Magnification x30 when narrow width printed at 10cm.
