Plants growing on limestone rocks. The plants are growing on a karst limestone formation. Karst landscapes are shaped by the erosion of layers of soluble rock such as limestone. Photographed in Tsingy de Bemaraha Strict Nature Reserve, Madagascar. The reserve has a unique ecology and rare species of animals and plants. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
