Myopia, also near-sightedness or short-sightedness, is a condition in which the lens of the eye brings images of distant objects to focus in front of the retina. this normally means that distant objects are out of focus, but closer ones may be in sharp focus. This is corrected by adding a concave (negative) lens, either in spectacles or contact lenses, or by laser surgery.
