Dural tear following traffic accident. Computed tomography (CT) scan of a section through the head of a 27-year-old patient with nasal discharge following a head injury in a road traffic accident. This discharge is probably due to a tear in the dura mater, the outermost of the three layers of membranes (meninges) that surround the brain, allowing fluid from around the brain to leak into the sinuses.
