This map is divided by colour into the regions along the coast of North Africa from Hispania and the Straits of Gibraltar in the west (upper left) to Egypt in the east in the inset map at lower right. The regions named include Mauretania (divided into Mauretania Tingitana and Mauretania Caesariensis), Numidia, the Roman province of Africa (Zeugitana and Byzacena), Tripolitania, Lotophagi (lotus-eaters), Syrtis, Cyrenaica and Marmarica. The distance scales are in Roman miles, Greek stadia, and British miles. Published in 'An Atlas of Ancient Geography' (1826) by US cartographer Henry Schenck Tanner (1786-1858).
