Girl of 17 champion Fairey made at Agricultural Hall Show. 17-year-old Mavis Wearne, daughter of a farmer in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, is champion dairymaid at the Dairy Show, Royal Agricultural Hall, Islington. Mavis's success puts her in the running for the national championships, and if she's lucky, a job at 瞿500 a year in London.
