James William Thomas (Jimmy) Hill Born in Balham and after playign for Reading as an amateur in 1948, signed professional forms for Brentford in 1949. In 1952 he was transferred to Fulham and has played for the club ever since. He has played one game for an England B XI. During his footballing career he has played in every position except goalkeeper and outside left. The only bearded professional footballer, he is also Chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association. Formerly an attacking wing half, last season he began to play regularly at inside forward, scoring 23 goals, six of them in the FA Cup run which took Fulham to the semi-final against Manchester United. He is 6ft tall and weighs 12st 7lbs. Jimmy is a very keen tennis and golf player. His ambition is to play in the Wimbledon Championships. His favourite sportsman is Denis Compton.
