Haigh Smiles for the Cameraman John George Haigh, Company Director, was brought from Lewes Jail today to Horsham to make his second appearance before the magistrates. He is charged with the murder of Mrs Olive Durand-Deacon, wealthy widow of Onslow Court Hotel, South Kensington, London, of which Haigh was also a resident. The police requested a further remand and Haigh was only a short time in the Court. Special precautions were taken to deal with large crowds outside the court room. Photo Shows: Haigh, handcuffed to a police officer, smiles broadly for the cameraman as he arrives at the Horsham Court today. 11th March 1949
