The new Scout uniform, with long trousers, worn by Alan Jones of Leyton, outside the new Scout HQ in Kensington, contrasted with the Knickerbocker suit of 1907 worn by Alan Boness of Harrow. A statue of the founder Lord Baden-Powell, stares down without comment. The occasion was a preview of the new long trouser uniform which will be introduced to senior and Rover Scouts from 1st November, but patrols must still dress alike, either all in long trousers, or all in shorts. Other styles have been designed for Senior Sea and Air Scouts - 21st September 1961. 固opFoto
