Leaders found guilty of conspiracy were sent to prison, their most dangerous followers to a concentration camp at Nagykanizsa. Photo shows a group of Arrow Cross men interned in Nagykanzsa Camp - the men who hoped to bring Hitlerism to Hungary - these are some of the 150 Arrow Cross (Hungarian Nazi party) officials and troopers who have been interned. Their beliefs include force, dictatorship, persecution of the weak. Through them Hitler hoped to win Hungary - 1939 - The Arrow Cross Party (Nyilaskeresztes P嫫t-Hungarista Mozgalom, or "Arrow Cross Party-Hungarianist Movement") was a pro-German anti-Semitic national socialist party led by Ferenc Sz嫮asi which ruled Hungary from 15 October 1944 to January 1945. During its short rule, 80,000 Jews, including many women, children and elderly were deported from Hungary to their deaths. After the war, Sz嫮asi and other Arrow Cross leaders were tried as war criminals by Hungarian courts. The party was founded by Sz嫮asi in 1935 as the Party of National Will but was outlawed two years later for its violent radicalism. The party had its origins in the political philosophy of pro-German extremists. 固opFoto *** Local Caption ***
