A perfect model of the ultra-modern Soviet Pavilion at the Paris International Exposition, surmounted by a living reproduction of the actual statue was carried across Red Square, Moscow when 40,000 athletes from the eleven republics which constitute the Soviet Union paraded triumphantly across Red Square, Moscow, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Revolution and the coming into operation of the new Stalin Constitution. The athletes ranged from sprightly young city dwellers to dusky men and girls from far Asiatic territories. Included in the parade were representative of all kinds of sport ranging from gymnasts to bearded Kirghiz huntsmen with eagles. 18 July 1937
