The jacket , longer than that of the old double breasted serge suit , strikes a guardsman's note with its bright buttons placed in pairs . The skirt has two fan pleats . The uniform , which is the design of Mr Maurice Helman , will later be adapted for use by all female staff of BOAC . 17 September 1946
