The Girl Scouts See Europe. Bermuda shorts worn with a blazer are regular travelling kit for American Girl Scouts, and wearing the outfit on arrival at Southampton from New York in the Cunard liner Queen Mary are Linda Marrs, 16 (left) and Davis, 16, both from Indianapolis, Indiana. They are members of a group of 20 Girl Scouts who saved 899 dollars for and 73 cents each to pay for a European tour of 10 countries, including a visit of 10 days to England and Scotland. They will attended a World Camp in Switzerland on July 28. The girls started to save up for the tour five years ago, and have earned money by doing all sorts of jobs from car washing to selling lingerie. Southampton, England. 25 June 1957.
