The new uniforms which girl guides and guiders are to be equipped, where shown in London for the first time today. The guides uniform consists of a light blue blouse, Navy blue skirt and beret. A light blue dress as an alternative uniform is to be provided as soon as possible. For guiders (adult leaders) a similiar uniform is to be introduced, and, as a temporary measure Guiders may also wear a white shirt with navy blue skirt and navy blue battle blouse. The acute shortage of materials for the new uniform will place a strict limit on the rate at which they can be supplied to members of the movement. 29 April 1947
