Hastings, Sussex, is probably the only place in Britain where it''s possible to see a police station coming along tghe street. The borough's experimental mobile police station, recently introduced, is doing brisk business with holidaymakers working from various points on the sea-front, the station deals with lost children, street direction, and minor accidents. Here a little holiday maker had "running repairs" done to her leg, which she has cut while on the beach. The sign beside the car, "Can I help you" brings the customers along. 28 August 1947
