DELAMBRE Jean Baptiste Joseph (1749-1822) French astronomer; calculated in 1806 of the solar tables and measured between the 1792 and 1799 arc of meridian between Dunkerque and Barcelona in order to establish the base of the new metric system. One took care from 1792 of the measurements of the longitudes and prepared taken care of tables on the motion of Urano.
