Glode of the Moon; ca. 1850. The globe is constructed of glass; on to which the printed paper gores have been pasted. There is a hole 10 cm. in diameter at the base; apparently to permit the insertion of a candle to illuminate the globe from within. There is a ventilation hole; 13 mm. in diameter; at the top.
