The Tropical Kingbird (Tyrannus melancholicus) is a large tyrant flycatcher. Kingbirds wait on prominent open perches and sally out to catch insects in flight. Tropical Kingbirds in the United States breed in Southern Arizona and the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Sonoran Desert, AZ.
