At left is the Planisphere of Brah, Harmonia Macrocosmica in 1660; this is the structure of the universe following the hypothesis of Tycho Brahe drawn in a planar view. At right is the Miller Planisphere; this is a contemporary planisphere, a circular star chart instrument with two adjustable rotating disks. It can be adjusted so that it displays the visible stars for any time and date.
