Small apple balances big apple. Two apples of different masses are placed on a wooden ruler supported at its center. The distances from the apples to the support point (fulcrum) are inversely proportional to their respective masses. Hence the net torque is zero and the mechanical system is at equilibrium. This is also an example of a Class 1 lever.
