Astronaut Richard Searfoss practising landing procedures while in orbit on Shuttle Mission STS-58. The simulator is the Portable Inflight Landing Operations Trainer, (PILOT), and was based on a laptop computer. PILOT was designed to keep astronauts proficient in landing procedures at the end of long missions. STS-58 flew from 10/18/93 - 11/1/93.
