British films have prominence as the main features here with CHECKPOINT supported by the American film A poster for twice weekly screenings in 1958 at the Public Hall, Insch , a village in Aberdeenshire. September of that year marked the re-opening of regular screenings after the closing of the Glen Cinema shows there which had been a weekly event since c1939. These restarted shows were run by Aberdeen based projectionist Ronald Grant who ran what eventually became a 3 hall rural cinema crcuit under the Suburban Cinemas name.
