Beach Naupaka / Cabbage Bush Plants / Hawaiian Half-flower - lining foreshore (Scaevola taccada). Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Native to south eastern Asia, East Africa, Australia and the Pacific Islands including Hawaii. Regarded as an invasive weed in many areas including Cocos (Keeling) Islands where this photo was taken. It grows rapidly, forming dense stands and is difficult to eradicate. Displaces native beach vegetation. Highly salt tolerant.
