The State Conservatory in Theatre Square, St Petersburg, Russia, a music school founded in 1862 by the Russian pianist and composer Anton Rubinstein. Another Russian composer, Rimsky-Korsakov, began teaching there in 1871, and the Conservatory has been named after him since 1944. The building was erected in the 1890s on the site of the old Bolshoi Theatre.
