Spinosaurus dinosaur, illustration. It was a theropod that lived 95-70 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period, in what is now northern Africa. It may have measured up to 18 metres in length, which would have made it the longest meat-eating dinosaur known. It had straight conical teeth, an adaptation for eating fish.
